The invention relates to a hood hinge wing for a vehicle hood hinge, comprising a base body articulated to a lower part of the vehicle hood hinge, a connecting element that can be connected to a hood or a vehicle body and that can be pivoted relative to the base body between a normal position and a crash position, a hinge pin articulated to the connecting element and the base body, and a drive device comprising a pyrotechnic gas generator, which is designed and arranged such that activation of the gas generator causes displacement of the connecting element from the normal position into the crash position. In order to provide a hood hinge wing for a hood hinge of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be manufactured in a particularly cost-effective manner and has a compact design, it is provided that the gas generator is fixed in place to a housing connected to the connecting element and is in operational connection with a drive body of the drive device arranged in a non-rotatable manner on the hinge pin, such that the gas pressure occurring upon activation of the gas generator causes displacement of the housing relative to the drive body.
