Vehicle seat comprising a backrest frame (1), equipped with an inflatable bag on a first side, with an armrest (6) connected via an articulated mounting to the backrest frame (1), the armrest also being located on the first side, the armrest being movable between a first position (P1) and a second position (P2), the armrest comprising a first portion extending according to a first extension direction and a second portion extending obliquely from the first portion according to a second extension direction, the first and second positions (P1,P2) being mechanically stable and indexed while all intermediate positions are mechanically unstable, the articulated mounting comprising an elastic member for biasing the armrest toward the first position or toward the second position, each of the first and second positions leaving free a volume necessary for the deployment of the inflatable bag from a lateral area of the backrest on the first side.
