The present invention concerns a compliant Robot comprising a frame (1), a payload (2) and locomoting wheels (3) for driving as a rover or swimming, characterized in that the frame (1) comprises at least two elastic rods each configured in the shape of a ring, both rings being assembled together by short connectors (10) and long connectors (11), thereby defining a repetitive eye-shape pattern around the circumference of the rings, the robot further comprising tendons (4) actuated by winches (5) and pulling on tight locations of the frame while the wheels (3) are mounted on long connectors (11) also equipped with propellers (6).
