The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly and a case including a body portion accommodating the electrode assembly, a cover covering an opening of the body portion, and a sealing portion if formed where outer surfaces of the body portion and the cover contact each other to thereby seal the electrode assembly in the case. The sealing portion includes a top sealing portion extending in a first direction from an upper surface of the case; side sealing portions each of which extend from a side surface of the case in (i) a second direction that intersects the first direction or (ii) a direction opposite to the second direction.
