Provided are a negative electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery, a rechargeable lithium battery including the same, and a method of manufacturing a negative electrode. A negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active material layer on the negative electrode current collector. The negative electrode active material layer includes a first negative electrode active material layer and a second negative electrode active material layer, which are stacked on the negative electrode current collector, at least one of the first and second negative electrode active material layers has a DD (degree of divergence) value, a DD value of the second negative electrode active material layer is about 60% to about 120% of a DD value of the first negative electrode active material layer, and at least one of the first and second negative electrode active material layers has a DD value of 19 or more.
