The invention relates to a piezoelectric actuator (20) for an arrangement (10) through which a medium flows, having multiple piezoelectric elements (16) and a protective system (35) surrounding the multiple piezoelectric elements (16), wherein the protective system (35) comprises at least one layer (40) having properties that absorb harmful constituents. According to the invention, it is provided that the at least one layer (40) is arranged on the side of a protective element surrounding the multiple piezoelectric elements (16) that faces the multiple piezoelectric elements (16).
