The present invention relates to a casting compound suitable for use as a binder in electrode or separator coating materials, comprising the following components: a. a fluorinated homopolymer having such a chain length that this homopolymer in an aprotic solvent with a dipole moment of at most or below 10.0 Cm at room temperature and either without agitation or under exclusively laminar stirring of the system consisting of polymer and solvent over a period of 24 h cannot be converted into a clear solution, b. a copolymer of this homopolymer with a lower chain length and/or lower crystallinity such that this copolymer in a solvent mentioned under d. below at room temperature and either without agitation or under exclusively laminar stirring of the system consisting of polymer and solvent at least at a concentration of 10 wt.-% has completely dissolved after at most 24 h, c. a first solvent, selected from solvents with a dipole moment of over 10.0 Cm and mixtures of two or more of these solvents, and d. a second solvent, selected from solvents with a dipole moment of below 10.0 Cm and mixtures of two or more of these solvents. [0002] The casting compound may further contain particulate material that is suitable as electrode material or is a solid-state ion conductor or that behaves inertly in an accumulator. In this case, the casting compound can be used as a constituent of or for the production of film-shaped electrochemical components, selected from anodes, cathodes and separators, whereby it has been applied to a metal or plastic film and subsequently dried. [0003] The invention also relates to a method for producing the casting compound.
