An emergency starter device designed to supply the starting peak current to the battery of a vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine, comprising connecting means for connection to the battery terminals, and an electrical circuit connected to said connecting means. The electrical circuit comprises a pack of rapid charging and discharging supercapacitors (C1) which can supply a discharged battery with the peak current necessary to operate the starter motor of a motor vehicle.
