The invention relates to a bipolar plate (12) for a fuel cell (10), wherein the bipolar plate (12) has two main surfaces (22) and forms elongated elevations (24) and channels (26) running therebetween on both main surfaces (22). At least one of the elevations (24) has at least one flattening (38). Furthermore, the invention relates to a fuel cell (10) which comprises at least one bipolar plate (12) according to the invention.
