A filter (101) for a fluid injection valve (100) is specified. The filter (101) comprises a filter sleeve (102) and a fastening element (120). The fastening element (120) comprises a fitting portion (122) for fastening the filter in the fluid injection valve (100) and a connection portion (121) mechanically interacting with a first part (103) of the filter sleeve (102) for connecting the filter sleeve (102) and the fastening element (120). The filter sleeve (102) comprises a second part (104), the second part (104) being arranged inside the fastening element (120) and being disposed at a distance (116) from the fitting portion (122) of the fastening element (120). Further, a fluid injection valve (100) and a method for producing the filter (101) are disclosed.
