The filter element (10) comprises a filter medium (14) designed as a filter medium hollow body (12), which is circumferentially closed at least with respect to an element axis (16). The electrical heating jacket (28) surrounds the element axis (16) at least partially in circumferential extent and at least partially in axial extent. The heating jacket (28) has a plurality of electrical heating conductors (32) connected in parallel. An electrical connection device is electrically connected to the heating conductors (32). The connection device (42, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56) can be connected to electrical lines for supplying the electrical heating jacket (28). The connection device (42, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56) has at least one elongated electrical contact element (42), with which at least several of the heating conductors (32) are electrically connected via at least one connection point (47) each.
