The invention relates to a mobile electronic device (2) equipped with a rechargeable energy storage device and a charging station (1) for charging the energy storage device. The device (2) is designed to receive energy (4) wirelessly and to transmit information (3) to the charging station (1) wirelessly regarding the position and orientation of the device (2) in a room and regarding charging parameters of the energy storage device. The charging station (1) receives the information (3) wirelessly, evaluates it, and charges the energy storage device by means of a directed wireless energy transmission (e.g., light or radio) (4). This simplifies the charging of the energy storage device of the electronic device (2).
