Gas generating system

In a gas generation system for producing lifting gases based on the decomposition of gaseous, liquid and/or solid propellants or fuels, the outlet of a gas generator is connected to the inlet of a turbine stage of an exhaust turbocharger. Fresh air can be supplied to the inlet of the compressor stage of this exhaust turbocharger, which is arranged on a common shaft, and the gas mixture serving for lift generation can be extracted from the outlets of both stages. Furthermore, a combustion chamber is provided in the exhaust gas stream of the exhaust turbocharger, with fresh air exiting from the compressor stage being capable of being admixed into the exhaust gas stream before this combustion chamber via a venturi nozzle regulated by a lambda probe. Furthermore, a catalyst can be connected downstream of the combustion chamber. Finally, water can be injected into the gas mixture from a water reservoir before the lifting gas is ultimately passed through a cooling stage.
