The present invention relates to a fuel filter (1) of an internal combustion engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, with an annular filter element (3) arranged in a filter housing (2), and with a storage housing (4) that contains a water collection chamber (5) which is open to the interior of the annular filter element (3) and is arranged below it. It is essential to the invention that the storage housing (4) is detachably firmly connected to the annular filter element (3), so that it can be mounted together with it in the filter housing (2), but can be removed separately from the annular filter element (3) from the filter housing (2).
