Source
The invention relates to a deformable wheel (2) with a non-pneumatic load-bearing support intended to equip a vehicle for rolling under extreme conditions such as those encountered on the moon and on Mars, comprising a hub (4) carrying at least one thrust disk (20) which projects radially outward, a tread (6) having an outer surface which is intended to be in contact with the ground while being capable of deforming under a load applied from the outside to conform to the ground surface, and an inner surface which is capable of coming into contact with the thrust disk in order to limit deformations of the tread according to radial directions, and a plurality of radial reinforcements (8) connecting the tread to the hub, the thrust disk being mounted so as to be able to rotate on the hub in such a way as to be capable of being set into rotation when the inner surface of the tread comes into contact with the thrust disk.
