A portable appliance 2 comprising: a body 4 for supporting the portable appliance; a handle 10 for manipulation of the portable appliance; a pump with an inlet and an outlet; a fluid reservoir 16 fluidly coupled to the inlet of the pump; and an electric motor for operating the pump to cause pumping of fluid from the inlet to the outlet when the motor is energized by an electrical power source. The fluid reservoir 16 is integral with the body 4. The body and fluid reservoir may comprise a plastic shell with a fluid level indicator. The handle 10 may be integral with the body and fluid reservoir. The portable appliance 2 may comprises a bay 20 for receiving the electrical power source. The bay may be integral with the body and fluid reservoir. The portable appliance may be a brake bleeder or a clutch bleeder.
