Described is a method for the production of button cells from the components cell cup and cell cover, cathode, anode, separator, seal, and electrolyte, comprising the assembly and mounting of said components to button cells as well as a subsequent centrifugation process for the purpose of improving the contact between anode, separator and cathode of the assembled cells. The method is characterized particularly in that for the centrifugation process a belt with cup-shaped receptacles is provided, the assembled cells are positioned in the receptacles, and the belt in preferably spiral-wound form is arranged around an axis and is rotated about this axis, so that the anode is pressed against the separator by the centrifugal force generated. Furthermore, a storage and transport medium for button cells is described comprising a belt with cup-shaped receptacles, in which the button cells are arranged, as well as a cylindrical winding core, on which the belt is wound.
