The invention relates to an uninterruptible power supply (1), comprising a base unit (2), a battery module (3), an input terminal area (4) for connection to a supply network (5), an output terminal area (6) for connection of an electrical consumer (7) designed to supply the consumer (7) and additionally to ensure supply of the electrical consumer (7) by means of the battery module (3) in the event of disturbances in a supply voltage of the supply network (5). According to the invention, it is provided that by means of a self-start device (10), comprising a signal input (11), an evaluation unit (12), a means (13) for providing an auxiliary voltage (15), designed to enable switching on of the consumer (7) connected to the output terminal area (6) without the presence of the supply network (5).
