Fixing device for a sliding door of a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a locking device for a sliding door (2) of a motor vehicle (3), wherein the sliding door (2) is adjustable on the aft vehicle body (4) between an open position and a closed position, wherein the locking device (1) can be brought into a locking state in which it fixes the sliding door (2) located in the open position in the mounted state via a locking force transmission chain (5) to the aft vehicle body (4), and into a release state in which it releases the sliding door (2) in the mounted state in the closing direction, wherein the locking device (1) can be brought from the locking state into the release state by motor means of a drive arrangement (6). It is proposed that the locking force transmission chain (5) be assigned a yielding section (8) which, in the mounted state during a manual closing sliding actuation of the sliding door (2) fixed in the open position, yields under a load that is above a predetermined limit load and thereby releases the sliding door (2) in the closing direction.
