Source
The present disclosure relates to a vehicle safety system (1) adapted to be mounted to an ego vehicle (9), where the vehicle safety system (1) comprises a main control unit (2) and a steering angle sensor (3) connected to the main control unit (2). The steering angle sensor (3) is adapted to detect the rotational direction (ω1, ω2) and angular velocity (v1, v2) of steering wheel movements (4). The main control unit (2) is adapted to determine an ego velocity (ve) of the ego vehicle (9), and to determine if a detected first angular velocity (v1) of a first steering wheel movement (m1) in a first rotational direction (ω1) exceeds a first threshold (th1) when the ego velocity (ve) exceeds an ego velocity threshold (vth). If that is the case, the main control unit (2) is adapted to control at least one warning device (5, 6) to issue a warning (w1, w2, w3).
