"textContent": "In one aspect of the present invention, a distance to an object in a monitoring area can properly be measured using a laser beam. A plurality of convex lens regions (d1-d9) are horizontally provided in a light exit surface of a light projection optical system (91) that projects a laser beam emitted from a laser diode (274) to the monitoring area while diffusing the laser beam. The lens regions (d1-d9) diffuse the light in a plurality of respective directions, and pieces of parallel light as many as the number of the lens regions (d1-d9) are formed in the respective directions. Therefore, even if a shading area is generated in a surface of a windshield (21) by dirt, the parallel light is maintained in each direction, so that a decrease in light intensity due to a blind spot can be suppressed. The present invention can be applied to a laser radar device (22).",
