Binder composition for electrode, electrode for secondary battery and secondary battery including the same

A water-soluble binder composition for an electrode comprising a polymer having one or more hydroxyl groups in its repeating unit, and a polybasic acid compound or one of its precursors, wherein the polybasic acid compound is a compound having three or more carboxyl groups in its molecule and the polybasic compound precursor is a compound that can be converted into a polybasic compound having three or more carboxyl groups when dissolved in water. The binder composition is environmentally friendly, has improved cycle life characteristics, and has improved adhesion strength of the active material to a current collector. An electrode including the binder composition and a secondary battery including the electrode, are also provided.
