DEVICE FOR DETECTING AMOUNT OF PEDAL OPERATION
DRIVE
September 10, 2014
The purpose is to eliminate backlash and loss stroke of the connecting lever, without the need to preload the flexure element during nonoperation of the pedal, and to detect the amount of pedal operation in highly accurate fashion from the outset of depression of the pedal. A second compression coil spring (50) is arranged between the connecting lever (20) and a second restraint portion (58) of a sensor rod (46), so that the connecting lever (20) is abutted against an intermediate locking portion (60) by the energizing force of the second compression coil spring (50), the connecting lever (20) being abutted against the intermediate locking portion (60) by the energizing force of the second compression coil spring (50) even during nonoperation of the pedal. Backlash and loss stroke of the connecting lever (20) are thereby eliminated without the need to preload the flexure element (44), load is transmitted in appropriate fashion to the flexure element (44) through a first compression coil spring (48) from the outset of depression of the operating pedal (16), and the amount of pedal operation can be detected in highly accurate fashion.
