A seat slide apparatus for a vehicle includes: a lower rail (3) freely fixed to a vehicle floor (2) and having a pair of first vertical wall portions (11, 11), a bottom wall portion (12), and a pair of first flanges (13, 13); an upper rail (4) fixed to a seat (5) having a seat cushion (7) and a seatback (8), and having a pair of second vertical wall portions (14, 14), a lid wall portion (15), and a pair of second flanges (16, 16) ; a locking member (30) connected to the upper rail; a memory piece (60) placed on the bottom wall portion, engages with the upper rail due to an upward urging force by a memory piece urging member (65, 66); a memory link (80) connected to the upper rail; a lever member connected to an upper portion of the upper rail; and a stopper member (70) fixed to the inside of the upper rail.
