Non-galvanic connector

An apparatus for non-galvanic connection between two electrical circuits is described. A base-unit (100) has an RF power source (14), a data link (12, 22) and an authentication controller (10). A contactless unit (200) for communication with a base unit has an RF power receiver (34), a data link (40, 32) and an authentication controller (30). The base unit and contactless unit can form a non-galvanic connection to replace conventional connectors, for example in a USB wired bus connection.
