A liquid activated air battery C1, includes: an electrode assembly A that includes an air electrode 1 and a metal anode 2; a battery container 8 that is capable of holding the electrode assembly A and electrolytic solution 4; a supply tank 5 for the electrolytic solution 4 to be supplied to the battery container 8; a drainage tank 6 for the electrolytic solution 4 discharged from the battery container 8; and pumps 11A and 11B as an electrolytic solution flow mechanism that runs the electrolytic solution 4 from the supply tank 5 to the drainage tank 6 through the battery container 8, whereby the composition of the electrolytic solution 4 supplied to the battery container 8 is kept constant, and stable power output is ensured.
