The vehicle seat (1) has a seat portion (2) and a backrest (3) which are adjusted relative to each other by using an adjustment mechanism (4). A base plate (5) holds the adjustment mechanism. The base plate comprises openings through which base plate is connected to the seat portion by fasteners, where one of the opening is in the form of elongate hole (8).
