The component comprises an inner component made of a plastic or a carbon fiber composite material that is arranged on an inner side of an outer component (6) made of a plastic or a carbon fiber composite material. An outer surface of the inner component is located in full contact with the inner side of the outer component. The two fixing elements are arranged around a rail (4) and/or fasten in a sliding roof recess of a roof (2) of a motor vehicle, for fixing to two spaced apart locations of the roof of the motor vehicle. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a chassis or trim component for a motor vehicle.
