Submodules (5a-5c) are alternatingly connected to a power supply circuit (8). An intermediate circuit capacitor (22) of the submodules is connected into the supply circuit by the semi-bridge. Intermediate circuit voltages (UZ1-UZ3) dropping across the circuit capacitor of each submodule are measured. The submodules are connected according to voltage deviation of the circuit voltages from target voltage values (UZ10-UZ30). An independent claim is also included for a modular radio frequency converter.",
