Green tire comprising an embedded cable and method of manufacturing such a pneumatic tire

A green pneumatic tire (10) comprising a tire cavity (40); first and second sidewalls (30, 32) extending respectively from first and second tire bead regions (34, 36) to a tire tread region (38); and a cable (52) embedded into a rubber material of the green tire (10) for allowing a creation of an air passageway (43) in the tire (10) after curing the green tire (10) in a tire mold is disclosed. The cable (52) comprises a core (50) of a first material and a shell (51) of a second material, wherein the shell (51) surrounds the core (50). Also, a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire (10) comprising an air passageway (43) is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: providing such a green pneumatic tire (10); curing the green tire (10) together with the cable (52) in a tire mold; and extracting the core (50) of the cable (52) from the cured tire (10) thereby providing an air passageway (43) in the tire (10).
