Method for controlling an engine including a cylinder provided with an inlet valve driven by a camless actuator

The method involves acquiring set points of opening angle (thetaivo) and closing angle (thetaivc) of an intake valve, and constructing a filling module (MR) of a cylinder. A sucked air mass setpoint is determined by the model, and the angle setpoints are determined. The model is reversed to relate the closing angle to the mass and to the opening angle. Coordinated set-point of the closing angle is determined from the mass setpoint and the opening angle setpoint. An actuator, which is not directly actuated by a cam is controlled by the coordinated setpoint and the opening angle set point.
