The device (1) has a housing (6) defining an enclosure (8) for a light source that is in thermal contact with the housing such that the housing allows thermal dissipation of heat released by the light source. The housing comprises a hollow rib (18), which is furnished with heat dissipation fins. The light source comprises an LED, and is provided in a region of the hollow rib. A reflector (10) reflects a part of a beam that is emitted by the light source so as to shape the emitted beam.
