A flanged bearing ring (11) has a tubular core (20) of steel and an outer flange (13) of a light metal in which there are formed axial through bores (14) for accommodating bolts for mounting a wheel to the ring (11); fixed in each bore (14) is a steel insert (30) which forms a threaded inner cylindrical cavity (31) extending between two opposite faces (15, 16) of the flange (13), and one or two transverse shoulders (35, 36) which are in contact with the material of the flange (13) so as to oppose relative axial movements of the steel insert (30) with respect to the flange (13).
