The unit has a quick connector (1) which includes an insertion end (3) for insertion of fluid line end of motor vehicle fluid line (2). A securing spike (4) on insertion end is encompassed by outer sleeve (5). An annular insertion space for fluid line end is arranged between securing spike and outer sleeve that is connected to securing spike by break-away element (7). The break-away element is designed to break when fluid line end is slid into annular insertion space such that outer sleeve is slid from inserted fluid line onto securing spike. An independent claim is included for a method for producing motor vehicle assembly unit.
