Furthermore, the method includes: illuminating the reference surface using laser or LED light; providing image information for the reference surface by detecting the reflected light with a Lidar unit; providing further image information for the reference surface by scanning the reference surface using an RGB sensor; and classifying the road surface by combining image information from the Lidar unit and the RGB sensor.
