Rechargeable battery module

A rechargeable battery module (100) includes: a first battery unit (110) including a plurality of first rechargeable batteries (101); a second battery unit (120) that includes at least one second rechargeable battery (102) that is electrically coupled in series to the first battery unit (110); and a control unit (130) that controls charge and discharge of the first battery unit (110) and the second battery unit (120). A short circuit member (43) is provided only in the at least one rechargeable battery (102) of the second battery unit (120), the short circuit member (43) being electrically connected to an electrode terminal (22) of the rechargeable battery (102) of the second battery unit (120) and is electrically connected to a first module terminal (131) by deformation to cause a short circuit.
