The device has a crankshaft element rotatable about a stationary pivot axis by using an actuator. A lever is articulated by a joint to a stator vane adjusting ring with a free end of the lever connected by another joint to a center area of another lever. The latter lever is mounted at an end on a stationary pivot point, where another end of the latter lever is linked by a third joint to a third lever which is mounted by a fourth joint at a free end of the third lever on the crankshaft element.
