Positioning device for holding a protective sleeve on an elongate member
DRIVE
May 14, 2014
For maintaining a protective sleeve (12) at a predetermined position along a second elongated member, such as a tubular protective harness (28), a positioning device (60) comprises a band (62) surrounding a central space and a plurality of flexible, resilient fingers (64, 65) each having a first end attached to the band (62) and a second end (66) extending radially inwardly toward the central space. At least one of the second ends (66) is engageable with the member (28) which is received within the central space, and the fingers are slidably movable along the member (28) to the predetermined position upon the application of a force to the band (62) directed along a longitudinal axis of the member (28). Adjacent fingers (64, 65) are of different lengths, preferably with alternate longer fingers (64) of the same length and intervening shorter fingers of the same length.
