Hose management system for supplying conditioned air to an aircraft
DRIVE
May 7, 2014
A hose management system (10) with a longitudinally collapsible duct-like air hose (42) may supply conditioned air for heating and/or cooling an aircraft. The system has a temperature controlled container (12) and a motorized remotely controlled drive assembly (74) with treads for feeding out hose to a length appropriate to hook up to a stationary aircraft. The motorized drive assembly also retracts the hose back into the container. The drive assembly (74) comprises a motor (118) driven main drive shaft (126) coupled to two secondary drive shafts (128, 130) and one manual drive shaft (132) by a roller chain (134). The hose may have scuff strips, hook and loop fasteners, and reflective strips.
