Open roof construction for a vehicle

An open roof construction for a vehicle is provided, comprising a roof opening (4, 5) provided in a stationary roof part (2) of the vehicle and movable means (13, 18, 32) for opening and closing the roof opening. At least a first and second drive member (12, 17) are provided for cooperation with the movable means, which at least first and second drive member are movable in a direction of the vehicle by a common drive source (8-11) and are spaced in said direction. At least one elongate buckling resistant member (22, 23) is provided extending substantially in said direction and movable between a disconnect position in which the first and second drive members are operatively disconnected from each other and a connect position for operatively connecting the first and second drive members to each other.
