The brake controller of a hybrid vehicle has a master cylinder 13, wheel cylinders 4FL, 4FR, 4RL and 4RR, a VDC brake hydraulic actuators 2, and an integated controller 9; the integated controller 9 has a vehicle-stop-state motor-OFF controller (step S9) and a pressurization speed controller (step S 12 to step S16). The vehicle-stop-state motor-OFF control works as follows: the vehicle-stop-state motor stops the VDC motor 21 when the vehicle stops by the brake operation, and the vehicle-stop-state motor maintains the stopped state as is for the VDC motor 21 while the vehicle stops. The pressurization speed controller works as follows: when the vehicle-stop-state motor-OFF control ends due to acceleration from the vehicle stopped state, in company with turning the VDC motor 21 on again, the pressurization speed of the wheel cylinder pressure is higher when the road surface gradient is higher.",
