A tire having an outer, visible, rubber sidewall layer is disclosed. The sidewall layer comprises a rubber composition comprising, based upon parts by weight per 100 parts by weight rubber (phr): (A) elastomers consisting of synthetic conjugated diene based elastomers consisting of: (1) 1 to 20 phr of synthetic trans 1,4-polyisoprene; (2) 30 to 70 phr of: (a) a synthetic cis 1,4-polybutadiene rubber, or (b) a synthetic polybutadiene rubber; and (3) 20 to 60 phr of synthetic cis 1,4-polyisoprene rubber having a cis 1,4-isomeric content of at least 95 percent; (B) 30 to 70 phr of a particulate reinforcing filler comprising: (1) a rubber reinforcing carbon black, or (2) a combination of a rubber reinforcing carbon black and a silica.
