This charging system includes: charging circuit (12) that charges a rechargeable battery (11); an antenna (13) that receives radio waves; wireless transmitting/receiving circuit (14) that detects the reception state of radio waves by the antenna (13); and baseband control circuit (15) that controls the charging of rechargeable battery (11) by charging circuit (12) based on the reception state detected by means of wireless transmitting/receiving circuit (14) in a state in which the rechargeable battery (11) is not being charged and a reception state detected by the wireless transmitting/receiving circuit (14) during charging of the rechargeable battery (11).
