Tire tread with groove reinforcement

The present invention relates to a tire tread (10) comprising a plurality of circumferential grooves (20) separating circumferential ribs, each groove (20) comprising a bottom (21) and two sidewalls (22, 23), and a plurality of laterally separated reinforcements (30), wherein one reinforcement (30) is arranged adjacent each circumferential groove (20), and wherein each reinforcement (30) extends from the radially inner surface of the tread (10) in a radial direction at least to the bottom (21) of an adjacent circumferential groove (20) to form the bottom (21) of that groove (20). Further, the invention relates to a tire comprising a tread (10) in accordance with the present invention.
