Seat plate (26) for an injection valve (62) is provided, comprising a fluid outlet portion (44) and a fluid flow directing element (30) being configured as a recess (46) in the seat plate (26), the recess (46) being configured to direct the fluid flow to the fluid outlet portion (44) and being configured to swirl a fluid being directed through the fluid flow directing element (30). Furthermore, a valve assembly (60) comprising a seat plate (26) and an injection valve (62) is provided.
