Method and device for telemetric imaging

The method involves providing a reference spectrum corresponding to peaks of a Fourier transform of a reference image. Spectrum of spatial frequencies of image and the reference spectrum are concentrically superimposed. The reference spectrum inscribed in a reference circle of radius is transformed into a transformed reference spectrum inscribed in a circle of variable radius by homothety. A homothety ratio is stored when peaks of the transformed spectrum are superimposed with that of the spectrum of image. Distance to an object is calculated in field of view (100) by using a specific formula. An independent claim is also included for a range imaging device.
