  "textContent": "A four-way exhaust gas valve (10) has a permanent inlet (1), a permanent outlet (2), a selectable inlet (4), a selectable outlet (3) and a pivotable valve flap (5). The pivotable valve flap (5) is arranged for switching between a first mode of operation, in which exhaust gas entering through the permanent inlet (1) is guided directly to the permanent outlet (2), and a second mode of operation, in which exhaust gas entering through the permanent inlet (1) is discharged through the selectable outlet (3) and exhaust gas re-entering through the selectable inlet (4) is discharged through the permanent outlet (2), whereby one of the inlets or outlets is not coplanar with the remaining others. The four-way exhaust gas valve (10) is used to heat the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine when directed through a latent heat reservoir at cold starting or low load operation.",
