Motor vehicle with driver assistance system and method for operating a driver assistance system

The car (1) has an image processing apparatus (5) for processing of images supplied by a camera (4) for creating a processing result i.e. distance interval. A vehicle-side driver assistance system (6) is controlled depending on the processing result. An illumination device (2) is operated by a control device (3) in differently illuminated vehicle environment modes such that the camera records two different images of differently illuminated vehicle environment. The processing apparatus creates the processing result based on the different images. The illumination device comprises a LED. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a driver assistance system of a motor car.
