Binder for electrode of lithium rechargeable battery and electrode for rechargeable battery comprising the same

In one aspect is provided a binder for an electrode of a lithium rechargeable battery, which increases adhesion between the electrode and an active material by saving characteristics of two monomers by grafting an acryl group to a vinyl alcohol group, and an electrode for a rechargeable battery comprising the same are provided. The electrode can improve charge and discharge cycle life characteristics of the rechargeable battery. The binder of the invention is a compound of Chemical Formula 1 as described herein.
