The engine has cylinders (11-14) provided with a piston and a control unit (30) that leads gas initially contained in the cylinder to an entry (21) of an air compressed tank (20). An energy recuperator (41) is placed on the control unit, which recovers pneumatic gas energy during displacement of the recuperator in the control unit. The tank comprises another entry (22) provided with another control unit (35). A gas compressor (42) is placed on the latter control unit, where the gas compressor is pulled by the energy recovered by the recuperator placed on the former control unit.
